Privacy Policy

This policy covers A Bansal Solutions and our website at abansalsolutions.com. We are a software studio registered in India. Where this policy refers to "GDPR", it applies to users in the European Economic Area. Where it refers to the "IT Act", it applies under the Indian Information Technology Act, 2000 and its amendments.

1. Data controller

A Bansal Solutions ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller for personal data collected via this website. Contact: hello@abansalsolutions.com.

2. What data we collect

Account & purchase data: name, email address, and any details you provide when purchasing a license or submitting a contact form.
Payment data: payments are processed entirely by Razorpay. We receive only the order ID, payment ID, and amount — no card numbers or banking credentials ever touch our servers.
License records: license key, product, tier, issue date, activation device ID (a hardware fingerprint hash — not a serial number), and activation count. Stored in Cloudflare KV.
Newsletter subscriptions: email address and subscription date. Stored in Cloudflare KV.
Contact form submissions: name, email, subject, and message. Stored in Cloudflare KV.
Usage & analytics: page views and basic event data via Cloudflare Web Analytics (privacy-preserving, no cookies). We do not use Google Analytics.
Technical data: IP address (retained by Cloudflare per their DPA, not by us directly), browser/OS type from HTTP headers.

3. How we use your data

To fulfil your purchase and issue a valid software license.
To send the license key, purchase receipt, and activation instructions to your email.
To respond to contact form enquiries.
To send our newsletter (only if you explicitly subscribed — you can unsubscribe at any time).
To rate-limit license activation attempts and prevent abuse.
To maintain customer portal authentication (OTP codes and short-lived JWTs, no persistent sessions).

4. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)): purchase data, license records, transactional emails.
Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): security, abuse prevention, analytics.
Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): newsletter subscriptions.

5. Data storage & retention

All data is stored in Cloudflare KV (globally distributed, encrypted at rest). Cloudflare is a certified data processor with a Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) DPA. We retain:

License records: indefinitely (required for license validation and re-issue).
Contact form submissions: 3 years.
Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
Rate-limit counters: 1 hour TTL (auto-deleted by KV).
OTP codes: 10-minute TTL (auto-deleted by KV).

6. Third-party processors

Razorpay — payment processing. Their privacy policy: razorpay.com/privacy.
Resend — transactional email. Their privacy policy: resend.com/privacy.
Cloudflare — hosting, CDN, KV storage, analytics. Their DPA applies.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party for marketing purposes.

7. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your data (right to be forgotten), subject to legal holds (active licenses).
Object to or restrict processing.
Data portability (receive a copy in a machine-readable format).
Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in India: the adjudicating officer under the IT Act; in the EU: your national DPA).

8. Cookies

We use a single first-party localStorage key (abs-theme) to remember your dark/light mode preference. This is not a tracking cookie. If you accept our cookie banner, we may load Cloudflare Web Analytics (cookieless). We do not use any advertising cookies.

9. Children

Our services are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be emailed to newsletter subscribers and noted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
